In January of 2019, I promoted my dating profile with Reddit advertising. The advert was seen by over 140,000 people, but later disapproved for being "in violation of [Reddit's] Quality Policy" ...a policy which didn't exist when the ad was created two weeks prior. I'm pretty sure that's a coincidence, this time at least.
Since it seems Reddit prefers its advertisers to promote rather than to 📝play, I've created a new advert to share the story of my 📝Stoned and Single (advert). And, inspired by the comments and conversations the advert prompted, I'm now training flirty.Brian.bot; a (not quite) romantic subset of the 📝Augmented Me.
I didn't set expectations for the experiment the first time around and it prompted a week of contagious laughter. There were date offers and I made a few new friends, but meeting my 📝Perfect Partner wasn't my aim—the same is true this time around.
Regardless of what comes, it's surely more fun than swiping—and a far better story.
